Katherine C.'s Story
I currently live in Houston, Texas (Native Texan). I attended Sam Houston State University and graduated with a B.A. English (Language and Literature in 1982). I lived in D.C. for 14months ('84-'85) as a governess.
Met my husband in 1985; married in '86;
I have 1 child - a son (21years old). He graduated from high school in 2004 and is a Petty Officer in the US Navy.
I am currently divorced.
I am a Librarian Technician in an oil company here in Houston for about 9 years. Before that I worked at the University of Houston Library for 6 1/2 years. I have actually 30+ years cummulative experience in Libraries including Nova's Resource Centers.
I have been a Scout Leader (Cubscouts; Scouts) for 12 years now.
I like popular rock music; Irish music; Show tunes; Eclectic mix of artists including Josh Groban, Gloria Estefan, Kansas, Queen, Abba, Barbara Streisand, etc.
I like movies - classic old films (1920's - 1960's); action/adventure; drama; sci-fi; family.
I like the same in books - Harry Potter; Lord of the Rings, ...Expand for more
etc.
I do play video games - N64, Gamecube and Wii.
My favorite foods are Seafood, Chinese, Italian; Ice cream and cookies for dessert (anytime).
I like chocolate, lime, lemon, orange flavors (in that order).
I like cats, my cat is Yoshi (japanese name, not VG name). I like small dogs too.
I like to draw and paint; and listen to music. I also just like to watch old movies to relax.
My favorite poem is Desiderata by Max Urhmann.
My second favorite poem is Invictus by William Ernest Henley
What Have I Learned from Life? Nothing is as bad as you think it is. The sun always rises - somewhere. There is always something new to learn - even from your enemies. Do good to others and others will do good to you. Do harm to others and you will receive the same. Our children are unique human beings - love them, nuture them, teach them and then set them on their path. You will be proud of them and you will see wonders. Celebrate life! Believe! Smile often and you will live longer.
